There is a lot of discrepancy around what true Gospel Rap or Christian Hip Hop music is; however, we believe it comes down to three things:
1. Content: It glorifies God, and lacks profanity or otherwise derogatory language that would be inappropriate to say to or around Jesus. If you were hanging out with Jesus, would He bop to the song?
2. Purpose: It has a clear purpose to spiritually serve, whether it be for the purposes of providing wholesome entertainment to fellow Christians, for the purpose of ministering and uplifting, for the purpose of speaking truth, or for the purpose of sharing the Word of God. In some form, it would positively and/or spiritually touch its listeners. Even if the lyrics are from the perspective of a hurt Christian or of one seeking answers, it would still benefit those who can relate and give them encouragement. Can believers AND non-believers take something from the song that would spiritually benefit them if they took heed to it?
3. Delivery: We all have to start somewhere. Sometimes, we lack finances, assistance, or knowledge on how to do certain things, especially when God first gives us the vision. It is pertinent and indispensable that we do not put too much weight on judging the poor quality of content made for the Kingdom. All praise is a joyful noise to the Lord. We can all benefit from growth, but only God knows a person's path. With that being said, however, it is essential that we do our very best to represent Christ in our lifestyles and in the presentation of our work, skills, and talents. Did you do your very best to present it with the best possible quality that you can "right now"? This includes sound/video quality, image quality, and the quality of your display of skill.
Nowadays, we cannot watch TV or listen to music without profanity, sex scenes, drug use, or Christian slander.
We want to change that.
If we like your content and it sits within the Christian Hip Hop genre, may be posted on our website and social media.
The form helps us better understand you as an artist. Most of the questions are optional; however, the more of the form you complete, the more information we can use to put with your posted content.
